Foldable cardboard Ecohelmet

Yesterday being the November 17,The James Dyson Foundation announced that Isis Shiffer is the 2016 International Winner of the James Dyson Award for her EcoHelmet design. A collapsible, biodegradable bike helmet that cannot be dispensed through vending machines at urban bike-share stations.
Shiffer was given the sum of $45,000 for winning the contest while an additional $7,500 was given to the university department where she studied design and engineering.

The EcoHelmet, which is made entirely of cardboard, is compact enough to fit in a laptop bag when folded. It cushions the wearers head with honeycomb-patterned paper that absorbs and distributes impacts, protecting cyclists from injury.
