I wonder what life would have been without ships. The role of ships in the world today will never be under estimated, starting from transportation. We are going to show you the top 10 biggest ships since the history of mankind.

1.Prelude FLNG

Prelude tops the list as the biggest and the most massive ship ever built. The ship's length is about 488 meters and 260,000 tones of steel in construction. FLNG can carry 600,000 tonnes of goods and it works with natural gas. This magnificent ship worth 12.6 billion dollars and it was launched In 2013.

2.Seawise Giant

The Seawise Giant has been around for some time even during the Iran Iraq war but it is currently sailing on Gujarat ports India. It has the length of 458 meters and death weight capacity of 564,763. It is sometimes used for the transportation of oil, and that's why it referred to as the biggest oil tanker.

3.Pierre Guillaumat
Pierre Guillaumat is one of the oldest, as it is dated back in 1977. The ship took its name from a French politician Pierre Guillaumat. The length is about 414 meters and a dead weight capacity of about 555,051 tonnes, it's speed capacity is about 17knots.

The Batillus length is about 413 meters, dead weight capacity of about 554,000 and a speed capacity of 17 knots. It was built in 1976 by Chantiers de l’Atlantique at Saint-Nazaire for the French branch of Shell Oil.

5.Esso Atlantic
If you are talking about classic, Esso Atlantic is so much classic.  It was launched in October 1977 and length of this ship is about 406 meters and speed capacity is about 15.6 knots. It has a dead weight capacity of 516,891and it is basically owned by Esso tankers limited.

6. Maersk MC-Kinney Moller

The Maersk MC-Kinney Moller houses the biggest container in the world. It is owned by Maersk and was constructed by Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering of South Koreas. The length of this ship is 400 meters it has the speed capacity of 23 knots.

7. Emma Maersk

Emma Mærsk was built way back 2006 and it is owned by A. P. Moller-Maersk Group. The total length of this ship/ vessel is 398 meters.

8. CMA CGM Von Humboldt

CMA CGM Von Humboldt has the length of 396, dead weight of 187,624 tonnes and speed capacity of 20 knots. This vessel Is used for the transportation of oil and was named According to Vasco da Gama. it started operation 2013.

9. Berge Emperor

Berge Emperor is mostly known as the largest oil tanker in the world. It has the length of 381.2 meters with weight capacity of 211.360 tons. This vessel has passed from one company to another after its production in Japan 1975.

10. TI Class Supertanker

TI Class Supertanker is known for carrying large amount of things starting from crude oil to raw materials. The dead weight is about 440,000 tons and it's length is 380 meters. The speed capacity is between 16 to 20 knots.
